Yes, ladies and gents, it's CONTEST time. :)
I thought long and hard about what I wanted my first contest to include, and I decided I want everyone to answer a question. I'll pick my favorite answer from all those given on Wednesday, October 29th @ roughly 6 p.m. EST - and post the winner shortly thereafter. :)

So here's the question:
If you were turned into a vampire tonight, what would be the first thing you'd do? (Aside from feeding - unless you intend your first meal to be some evil arch rival. In that case, I definitely want to hear about that along with all the gritty details!)
Remember, in my world, unless you really are an overly caring, loving person - most of your human body functions will cease the minute the "Becoming" ritual is finished. That means no heartbeat, no breathing (although you might still go through the motions for a while, it tends to take the brain a bit before it realizes oxygen isn't necessary!). You also can't go out in the sun, and because you're a Fledgling...you have to sleep all day. :) Also, since this was obviously done against your will...don't forget to tell me how you feel about it!
The more creative you get, the better. Have fun with this contest. Hell, write your own little short story.

Eternal Seduction Madness...
I'm still SICK! :( Only now...I fear my simple throat infection has morphed into bronchitis. Why it had to happen this week...I have no idea. Maybe I should untie the good luck fairy and let her out of my closet. :D
So, there's all kinds of fun stuff happening this week. Eternal Seduction's official release date is October 31, 2008. But as many of you know, the book has been available on Amazon and on my website as a PDF e-book for just over a week now.

Eternal Seduction is on it's way to the middle east! My Mom adopted an American Soldier, Kris, a few weeks ago, and along with sending him and his unit all kinds of junk food and requested items, he's asked that she send him my book. Apparently some of the guys in his unit like vampires, and they are really looking forward to reading ES.
This just blows my mind. :D I can just see a bunch of Marines sitting around reading a romance novel. Granted, my Mom keeps reminding me that ES isn't all about romance, but still. The image just tickles me to no end.
I'm still giddy about my 5 CUP review from Coffee Time Romance. :) Being that it's my debut novel and that I'm self-published on top of it, pulling a rating that not even some traditionally published authors get...Yeah, color me smiling for the rest of the year!! :D
Okay, I think that's all I have for now.

I'm so freakin' excited right now that I don't know what to do with myself!!!! :D
I'm selling the Heathen for $5.00 on E-Bay...
Why? Because she delivered unto me...yet another disease. Seriously, what's happening in our public schools now-a-days? I swear I can't remember being this sick when I was 9 years old. It's like the teachers are dipping each child in vats of bacteria just to see who manages to spread it to the most people. ...wow, that has the makings of a MySpace game...doesn't it? :)
But back to my disease. Just what has the Heathen gifted me this time? I was trying to figure out a way to describe my symptoms that wasn't overly gross, and this is what I came up with:
It is now Christmas time in my throat, because those are the colors regularly coming out of it. :D
The bonus is that as of yet, it would appear I only have a throat infection (and I know this because I can taste it). I'm coughing, but it's not one of those barking, my-lungs-are-shutting-down kind of coughs. My nose is also a little stuffy, but so far I don't feel that god awful terrible.
So what have I been doing this week other than tending to the Heathen (she missed two days of school because of the disease) and trying not to catch it, which obviously didn't work? I worked on final edits of my second book, Eternal Hearts, and worked on sections of my fifth book, Eternal Embers.
I know, I know, it sounds wacky - but I already have the first four books written. Granted, 3 and 4, need a good work over because they were written back in 2005 before I'd learned the crucial POV lesson. Head hop, much? But anywho, I swore to myself I'd work on one of the already drafted books as I write a new one. This way, I should stay ahead of the game and be able to stick to my every 6 months release schedule. :)
I've also been finalizing all my promos and contests for the upcoming week. Check back on Monday the 27th, because that's when all the fun really begins!
I'm off to guzzle the green liquid death...(aka NyQuil) :)

The first Review of Eternal Seduction is in!!

Print copies of Eternal Seduction Abound!
So I was rewarded by the UPS Gods today with a box of books...MY BOOKS! :)
I now have print copies of Eternal Seduction on hand, and let me tell you, it was such an odd feeling opening a box of my own books. It was somewhere between pee-your-pants excitement and pee-your-pants-terror. Excitement because, well...that's my name on there! Terror because, well...THAT'S MY NAME ON THERE!
But now I'm planning out contests and thinking of all kinds of crazy fun things I can do with these books. Anyone have any contest ideas? Things you've participated in before that were really fun? If so, leave me a comment and I'll be happy to oblige you. Who knows, you might even win a print copy of ES for the incredible idea.

Hobo Stew and the Heathen's Halloween Costume
That's what my Saturday has been made of so far. :)
The Heathen and I went out around 11 a.m. to shop for her Halloween costume. For those of you who don't know, the Heathen is 9 years old...and this year she's decided she wants to be a witch. So off to Halloween USA we went - where I suddenly realized I'd left my patience on the counter at home. Seriously, how long does it take to ring up two cans of hair color and a single witch costume? Really. Come. ON!
I swear, and I'm not exaggerating - it took this hung-over college student 5 full minutes to ring up three items. And this was all while she chattered at the cashier next to her about how...and I do quote..."fucking" much she drank lastnight and what some guy named Trevor "fucking" did to her while she was passed out. And how "fucking small his (Trevor's I can only assume) dick is."
Now...I'm not going to say I don't pop off with the f-word around the Heathen...and I won't say Chad doesn't either. However, there are places I expect to hear it and places I don't. Standing in line at a Halloween store is one of the places I don't. I also don't want to hear about how small someone's dick is...AND NEITHER DOES MY 9 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER!!!
Needless to say, I was not pleased.
I did manage to get out of the place without making a legendary scene...but more than just the cashiers knew how I felt by the time I was finished. And mind you, I used not a single cuss word while making my displeasure known. The Heathen did burst into a giggle fit as soon as we walked out though. She thought it was funny that her mom made someone cry. Now, I swear I didn't see any tears, but the Heathen swears she did. Who knows. Either way, I'm thinking said cashier is going to think twice before she starts rambling on about her Friday night activities in front of customers again.
After that excitement, we went to the grocery store and did our shopping for the week - and that's where the Hobo Stew came in. For those of you who are reading this going, "What the hell is Hobo Stew?" Allow me to explain.
Hobo Stew:
3 ears of corn cut into thirds
1 5lb. bag of potatoes (chopped into large pieces)
1 bag of carrots (full (chopped into large pieces) or baby if you're lazy :)
3 large onions (quartered)
1 package of smoked sausage
1lb of ham (chunked)
1 head of cabbage (chopped)
1 can of beer (your choice)
You cut it all up, throw it in a large pot, then pour in some water (enough to almost cover everything) and the can of beer. Bring it to a boil, then turn the fire to low and let it go for a good 6 hours.
That is Hobo Stew. :) Trust me, if I could somehow take the smell filling my apartment and share it with you, I would. It doesn't get any better. And in about an hour, I intend to at least look at the recipie for homemade rolls...but I'm thinking cornbread from the box sounds far more likely. :D
So that's my Saturday thus far.

The new version of my website went up Wednesday and seems to be a hit. Also, the cover of Eternal Seduction is up on Amazon, so that should complete their listing process. All I have to do now is finish up my promo planning and start the real marketing phase. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. But for those of you who just can't wait - you can actually buy the print edition of ES right now on both Amazon and CreateSpace. :)

Back again...
Good Morning. I went MIA again because of a death in the family early Friday Morning (10/10) and a funeral yesterday (a catholic one to boot - not because of the religion, mind you, because of the length of the ceremony!). All in all, everything went smoothly and the Heathen was an absolute gem. I guess I can't ask for anything more without being greedy, so consider me completely content. :)
So now it's back to the grind. Traffic on my website has increased markedly over the last week, so I've decided to redesign the whole site - which is always a 'kick-yourself-in-the-groin' kind of good time (as my husband would say). It's not that I don't enjoy it, because I do. It's just that there are times when one little > can ruin the whole page. :) In any event, I'm hoping to unleash the new site by the end of the week.
In other news...
Eternal Seduction is selling! :D And most importantly, to people I don't know! So if you've purchased it, please don't hesitate to come and tell me what you thought. I'm all about what my readers think. Plus, I'd really like to post some reader feedback along with the reviews from the review sites I've been pimping lately.

The good and bad news...
The good news is that I've gotten a total of 6 sites to accept Eternal Seduction for review. :) The bad news is that I found 10 typos in the printed proof of ES. Of course, that's why it's called a proof. However, three of the review sites I sent e-books to last week received the e-book version that still had these typos.
I'm freaking out again.
What if they blast me for those 10 typos? Everyone keeps telling me I'm being a whacko...but I'm seriously stressed about this. I'd rather be told the story sucks than be picked on for the errors. Were they huge things? No. I'm talking a missed word in chapter 4, a few spots through the book where the "n" mystically dropped out of the word glance (so it ended up being glace), and two instances where the word started became stared. That's all. But still. Considering I have 5 proofreaders and they all missed the same typos - I can only hope the reviewers glaze past them, too.
But back to the good news. The following sites are the ones who are doing a review of ES. And because I've gotten a bunch of questions, the reviews aren't done yet. These sites accepted ES for review and will post the reviews in the next 4-8 weeks. I'll let you know when they do, but in the meantime check-out their sites:
